Reflexology is a natural healing art originating from Ancient Egypt, which works on the principal that every organ and system of the body has a corresponding zone or point in the feet. Reflex zones are manipulated by applying pressure to the feet using specific thumb, finger and hand techniques with the use of oil, cream or talc. During reflexology light pressure is used to massage each of the points in the toes, feet and ankles to release tension, remove energy blockages, disperse accumulations of calcium and uric acid, stimulate blood circulation and promote healing of both body and mind.

What can I expect from a Reflexology Treatment?
The session begins with an initial consultation to find out about your general health, lifestyle wellbeing. This is also an opportunity to discuss goals and aims for the treatment.
The treatment lasts for one hour and involves 50 minutes of reflexology on the feet using talc or oil, followed by a relaxing 5 minute massage on each foot using specialist reflexology massage cream. The treatment is carried out on the treatment bed in a reclined position, only shoes and socks are required to be removed. Gentle pressure is applied to reflex points using the thumbs as the foot is worked through methodically. Slight discomfort may be experienced in reflex points which correspond with physical problems. Feel free to ask for an on-going assessment of any positive reflexes which occur during the treatment, and an education in the location of reflex areas of the feet. You should feel relaxed and sleepy at the end of a session. Regular reflexology is a wonderful way to keep your system balanced and your stress levels low.
Please note: A reflexologist cannot diagnosis or prescribe. Reflexology is an adjunct to medical help not a replacement for it.
