Indian Head Massage has been practised in India for over a thousand years as a form of grooming. Indian head massage was brought to the west in the 1970's and the therapy was extended to include the face, ears, neck, shoulders and upper arms.
Indian Head Massage works on areas affected by mental and emotional stress. In Western culture today we spend much of our time in our heads, so this treatment can really help to calm the mind and is deeply relaxing. Working with a firm and gentle rhythm it helps to relieve muscular discomfort and tension as well as calming the spirit and aiding relaxation, it also improves circulation in the head, enhances the senses and promotes clear thinking.

What can I expect during an Indian Head Massage?
A consultation will be carried out prior to the massage to find out about your health, lifestyle and aims for the treatment. Essential oils will then be chosen to suit your needs.
The massage lasts for 45 minutes and is carried out in a seated position. It covers the upper back, neck, shoulders, scalp and face. Oils are used on all areas apart from the scalp, unless specifically requested. Indian Head Massage will soothe away stress and tension leaving you relaxed, revitalised and re-energised. This therapy is also ideally suited to the workplace or situations where short treatments are required since it can be performed fully clothed, without oils, in a seated position.
